Chittagong University admission Circular 2016 published yesterday.
The application of Chittagong University honours admission 2016-17 will start from September 1. Students will be able to apply till September 25.
There are 8 units in CU and it offers Honours Degree in various courses. It is one most popular public university of Bangladesh. As always, students will have to sit for admission test to find a place in CU. We will bring everything you need to apply for CU admission.
Application Requirements for Chittagong University(CU)
Students who passed SSC in 2012/2013/2014 and HSC in 2015/2016 will be able to apply for admission test 2016-17. Unit-wise other requirements are stated below.
A Unit
To apply for A unit, students of Science and Agriculture need have GPA 7 combined in SSC and HSC examination. If any student gets GPA below 3, he/she will not be able to apply even if he/she have GPA 7 combined.
B Unit
To apply for B1 (Bangla, English, History, Islamic History and Culture, Philosophy and Persian Language and Literature), students need to have at least GPA 5.75.
To apply for B2 (Arabic, Islamic Studies), B3 ( Fine Arts), B4 ( Pali), B5 ( Dramaturgy), B6 ( Culture), B8 (Music), students require to have at least GPA 5.25.
To apply for B7 (Institute of Education, Research and Training), students of Humanities need to have at least GPA 5.75. Students of Science and Commerce need GPA 6.25.
C Unit
Students need at least GPA 7 to be able to apply for Unit C.
D Unit
To apply for D unit, students need at least GPA 6 combined in SSC and HSC examination.
E, F and G Unit
Students need GPA 7 to apply for Unit E, F and G.
H Unit
To apply for Unit H (Physical education and Sports Science), Students require to have GPA 5.25.
I Unit
To apply for Unit I ( Marine Science, Oceanography and Fisheries), students need to have at least GPA 7 combined in SSC and HSC exam.
J Unit
At least GPA 7 is required to be able to apply for J Unit (Environmental Science and Forestry).
Application Process for Chittagong University(CU)
To apply for the admission test, candidates will have to apply through Teletalk mobile. No other operators’ mobile can be used to apply.
To apply, Type
CU<space>1st 3 letters of HSC Board name<space>HSC Roll<space>HSC year<space>1st 3 letters of SSC Board name<space>SSC Roll<space>SSC Year<space>Unit Key Word and send it to 16222 from Teletalk Mobile.
Example: CU DHA 123456 2016 DHA 123456 2014 A and send it to 16222
If all the information are correct in the above SMS, you will get a return SMS with a PIN and amount of admission fee.
Then to confirm the application, Type
CU<space>YES<space>PIN<space>Contact number and send it to 16222
Example: CU YES 236421812 018XXXXXXXX
Here you have to use your active personal mobile number.
After this process is complete, you will receive a User ID and Password. This ID and Password will be needed to download Admit card.
Admit Card Download of Chittagong University Admission
To download admit card, you will be have to visit cu.teletalk.com.bd or www.cu.ac.bd and enter your User ID and Password. Then if the User ID and Password are correct, you will see an option to upload a photo. Then you will have to upload a 300×300 pixel photo (size has to be less than 100Kb). Then download and print 2 copies of the admit card. You will have to take both copies to the exam hall with 2 copies of passport sized picture.
